Baltimore Orioles Meetup in Charlotte
|
Growing up behind Memorial Stadium, my fate was handed to me at birth. Alas, it was not my choice to fall in love with the Baltimore Orioles. It was my destiny. Let's just say they had me at "O." This is the hand that has been dealt me and my heart has room for only one team. Now that MASN has come to Charlotte, I am seeking other rabid Orioles fans with whom to watch the best sport every invented. I need friends who will both cheer with me and not judge when the seventh inning "relievers" cause froth to form in the corners of my mouth. Here's my vision. Os fans come together at a local bar to watch the Os play, as often as possible, but at least once a week. We'll sing the National Anthem the right way, do an occassional Wild Bill style cheer, a chorus of "Ys suck" as appropriate, dance to "Thank God I'm a Country Boy," and when things get bad, which may be every game this season, we'll be there for each other. Jim Hunter told me there are other Os fans in Charlotte? Please make my year and join the group so that we may share our passion together and make friends while we're at it. Let's sport our orange and black proudly, and figure out how to work crabs into the fun!
